Preschool (age 3 by 9/1/17) through Kindergarten

Preschool and Kindergarten use Our Sunday Visitor’s Alleluia! series. The 3- to 4-year-old lessons begin with God’s creation of the world, as well as an understanding of the self as part of a family. The 4- to 5-year-old lessons focus on the relational aspects of the faith. Children learn how they relate to God, their family, and their parish. The Kindergarten lessons delve into Catholic identity and participation in the faith community.

Grades 1 through 7 Religious Education

Children in grades 1 through 7 use Loyola Press’ Finding God series. Younger classes use the St. Mary’s Press Children’s Bible. Students in grades 5 through 8 purchase their own copy of the St. Mary’s Press BreakThrough! Bible for Young Catholics. Children delve into concepts and vocabulary, including: God, Jesus, the Church, the Creed, sacraments, morality, prayer, Catholic Social Teaching, and Scripture. As children progress through the grade-levels, their knowledge and experiences of these concepts broaden and deepen.

First Sacrament Preparation

Children are prepared for First Reconciliation and First Communion with in-class lessons and additional at-home work during the second year of their religious formation, typically during grade 2. Older children who join our program with no prior religious formation, are prepared for their First Communion in the second year as well, regardless of their grade level, with grade-level, in-class lessons and a special Sacrament Class that meets Wednesday nights at 5:35pm 14 times throughout the year. If your child fits into the older student category, please contact Therese Stahl at First Reconciliation celebrations are held in December, and First Communion celebrations are held in Spring each year.

Confirmation Preparation

Youth in Grade 8 who are preparing for Confirmation, will be using Dynamic Catholic’s Decision Points curriculum. For more information on Confirmation preparation, click here. Confirmation preparation is grades 6, 7, and 8.

High School Ministry, Grades 9-12

All high school students are invited to participate in our high school ministry program. We meet 2-3 Sundays each month from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Each month we will have one evening dedicated to diving deeper into our faith and making it come alive. Service opportunities and social events will comprise the remaining 1-2 Sundays. Our service opportunities are both in-house and off-campus and cover a wide variety of needs in our area. We also provide additional opportunities for growth and service through retreats and mission trips. These are provided for an additional fee.
