What is Camp WOW?

Camp Wow is a Catholic summer camp put on by Parishes in the Rockford Diocese for
junior high youth.  St. John Neumann will be going with youth from Christ the Teacher, DeKalb, St. Margaret Mary-Algonquin, and St. Mary’s Church, DeKalb, St. Charles Borromeo, Hampshire.  The camp counselors are high school youth from these same parishes.

Who is eligible in attending?

All junior high youth from the above parishes are eligible to be campers.  They are students who are in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade during the 2017-18 school year.  Space is very limited at camp and registration fills up fast. A wait list is available for those who register after all the spots have been filled. The registration deadline is 5/1/18.

Camp counselors are high school youth from the parishes who are involved in the youth ministry programs at their parishes and who have successfully been interviewed to be camp counselors.  They spend 5 months in training as counselors.

How do we get to CAMP WOW?

St. John Neumann will provide school bus transportation to and from camp.  We will leave in the morning of June 26 and return in the late afternoon of June 29.

How much does CAMP cost?

Camp costs $250 for the 4-day, 3-night stay.  Your registration needs to be secured with a non-refundable $100 deposit. Please make checks payable to St. John Neumann.

How do I register?

Print, fill out and submit the attached registration form and the Student or Youth Emergency form and turn it into the Youth Ministry Office along with your $100 deposit.  We have been given a limited number of slots for campers at the present time so all registrations will be honored on a first come, first serve basis.  There may be additional slots opening after the registration deadline but that will depend on whether the other parishes filled all of their camper slots.  If you are unable to attend CAMP after registering your deposit will be returned only if we are able to fill your slot with another camper.

We ask all camper’s parents to volunteer during camp. We need volunteers at camp during the day and especially at night. Please, prayerfully discern what you can do to help us make camp successful. Contact our office for your availability.
